City Church’s Worship and Creative Arts

We believe that God has created us to worship Him.  We are called to lead and equip people for a lifestyle of worship, that leads them to encounter God and to respond to Him with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

We love God by worshiping Him in every aspect of our lives.

We serve God by using our talents to glorify Him and to lead others in doing the same.

We change by our encounters with God in worship and our lives become living testimonies of His goodness.

We do this by providing an atmosphere that welcomes God and causes us to respond to His presence with honest, heartfelt praise and worship.  We utilize our creative gifts of music, art, spoken word, video, and lighting to bring glory to God.

Richard Foster states “To worship is to experience Reality, to touch Life.  It is to know, to feel, to experience the resurrected Christ in the midst of the gathered community.”

The Westminster Confession says “Man’s chief and highest end is to glorify God, and fully enjoy him forever.”  When we love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, we are the closest we will ever be in this world to life in God’s eternal kingdom.

Jesus’ Greatest Commandment is an invitation to worship God with our wills, our emotions, our intellects, and our bodies – an experience encompassing all that it means to be a human being.  (Mark 12:30)
